Privacy at Cafe Mikschi
You can use this website without registration, a user account, online ordering or a contact form. We do not use analytics or marketing tracking. Below we explain technical delivery, browser preferences and voluntary enquiries.
Privacy contact
Cafe Mikschi · Hauptstraße 41, 7000 Eisenstadt, Austria. For privacy questions or requests, contact cafemikschi@gmail.com, call +43 677 62093500 or write to us. Operator: Magyar Tímea (trading name: Cafe Mikschi).
Website delivery and server logs
When you visit, the web server processes technical information such as IP address, time, requested address, response code and technical information sent by your browser. This supports operation, troubleshooting and security on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The current daily log rotation retains 14 previous log files. Hosting provider: Rackhost Zrt., 6722 Szeged, Tisza Lajos körút 41., Hungary; info@rackhost.hu; https://www.rackhost.hu/privacy-policy. Rackhost provides the VPS infrastructure. Our website backups contain only program files and public content, not visitor logs or email correspondence.
Current technical setup
This website does not use analytics or marketing services. Fonts and illustrations are served locally from the same web server. The Google Map in the contact section loads only after your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; Section 165(3) TKG 2021). Your choice is stored in the “mikschi-consent” cookie for 6 months (version and Google Maps permission, without a unique identifier). Change it at any time under “Cookie settings” in the footer. This cookie is necessary to remember your consent preference on this device (Section 165(3) TKG 2021). “Withdraw consent” removes the map; it does not delete data already sent to Google or cookies Google has set. Loading the map connects your browser to Google and transmits information including your IP address and technical browser data. The map shows the café location. You can use the website and written address without consent. Once loaded, Google may use cookies or similar technologies and associate data with your Google account if you are signed in.
Display preference
When you choose light or dark mode, the preference is stored in your browser’s local storage as “nuxt-color-mode”. You can delete it in your browser. It is not used for advertising or analytics. The local entry has no automatic expiry and remains until deleted or overwritten.
Language preference
When you choose a language, the “mikschi-locale” cookie remembers your choice for up to one year. Its only purpose is to show your chosen German, Hungarian or English language on your next visit. The language also appears in the address as the lang parameter. You can delete the cookie in your browser.
Remembering your scroll position
Browser session storage uses “mikschi:reload-scroll” to hold the page address and scroll position so you can resume at the same point after reloading. This is not stored in a user database and is removed at the end of the tab session. Language, display and scroll preferences serve the requested functionality only, not tracking.
Legal basis for browser preferences
Remembering your chosen language and display mode and restoring navigation state on reload provide the requested functionality. Necessary device storage relies on the exemption in Section 165(3) TKG 2021. Where personal data is processed, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR applies: our legitimate interest in usability and preserving your chosen settings. These data are not used for profiling or advertising.
Email and telephone enquiries
When you contact us, we process the name, contact details and message you provide to answer your enquiry. Contract-related enquiries rely on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; other enquiries rely on our legitimate interest in communication under Article 6(1)(f). Email arrives through Gmail, not in a database on this website. We retain simple enquiries for no more than 3 months after the enquiry is closed, then delete them. Messages subject to statutory retention obligations or needed to handle legal claims are excluded; these are kept for the applicable mandatory period or as long as necessary for the legal claim. Contact is voluntary; usable contact details are needed for a reply.
External services
Instagram, TikTok and directions are external links; we do not embed social feeds or tracking modules. Phone and email buttons open the relevant application on your device. External services apply their own privacy notices.
Google provider and international transfers
In the EEA, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, is generally the controller for Google services. Gmail also processes messages, attachments and sender and recipient details; simply visiting this website does not send correspondence data to Gmail. Data may also reach the USA. Google LLC participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework; covered transfers rely on an adequacy decision (Article 45 GDPR). For other transfers Google uses standard contractual clauses where necessary (Article 46 GDPR). Safeguards and access to copies: Google transfer safeguards. Google’s own retention depends on data type, purpose and account settings; it is separate from our server-log retention. Details: Google privacy policy; Google data retention.
Your rights
Subject to the GDPR’s conditions, you have rights to information, access, rectification, erasure, restriction and, where applicable, data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Send requests through the contact channels above. A response is normally due within one month; complex or numerous requests may require two additional months, with reasons communicated within the first month. This website does not use profiling or automated individual decision-making.
Complaints
If you believe your privacy rights have been infringed, you may complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde): Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria; email: dsb@dsb.gv.at. You may contact the competent supervisory authority directly without first contacting us.
